The collegiate sports system in the United States truly is unique among worldwide institutes of higher learning. In many cases, participating on college teams has played a key role in the development of Olympic competitors. Even for those individuals who have been impacted greatly by their non-college club teams and national programs – it's safe to assume that their overall U.S. "college experience" played a role in molding their Olympic "character."

With that in mind, CollegeSports360 brings you this Olympic Central page that will feature one basic focus: former/current U.S. college athletes who are competing in the 2012 Olympic games.

Our first offering was a big one – essentially a databaseof more than 1,000 individuals (competitors, alternates & coaches) who are in London for the 2012 Olympics.

And our second Olympics feature is a unique "medal count" board, sorted by U.S. college affiliation.
